About Us
J David Murphy BSc FRICS FCIArb is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Arbitrator and Adjudicator registered with four Adjudicator Nominating Bodies and a practising expert witness on quantum and quantity surveying practice.
Services
With over 45 years experience in the construction industry in four continents David has specialised since 1988 in the provision of dispute resolution consultancy services to private and public sector clients in the south of England and London.
After 10 years in Hong Kong David returned to the UK in 1988 and joined Davis Langdon heading up the delivery of legal support services from the Southampton Office as Associate in 1989 and Partner/Director from 2002. From January 2013 David has been sole principal of JDM Dispute Resolution.
Services include:

preparation and analysis of claims arising from delay and disruption in construction projects and the determination of associated entitlements to extension of time and the payment of direct loss and expense or damages

analysis of change orders and variations and entitlements to payment

preparation of cases in connection with adjudication and arbitration proceedings

acting as expert witness in proceedings in relation to quantum and quantity surveying practice including in adjudication, arbitration and litigation in the Technology and Construction Court

acting as arbitrator or adjudicator with circa 425 appointments and over 300 decided cases including complex adjudications with values in dispute up to £4m
